growing a three sisiters garden in New England

Post: # 52774Post barefootmamax4 »

I'd like to try a three sisters garden but I have been finding conflicting advice on how to plant. One says to plant corn first, then about 2 weeks after the corn is up, put a ring of pole beans around the sprouts and then a ring of squash. The other says to put the three seeds into one hole with a fish all at the same time.
Has anybody done a three sisters? How did you do it?

I did years ago and you definitely have to plant the corn first otherwise the beans overwhelm the corn comparatively quickly.

Surely a fish is going to need more than three seeds to keep it fed...
