Quinces

Post: # 51875Post Magpie »

Have just moved house (again!) and have scored myself a laden quince tree - now what do I do with them? Quick, before the kids pick 'em all, to put them on the road to be squashed by passing cars - apparently quite spectacular! :geek:

are they true quinces or the japonese (ornamental) quince?

I made jam and jelly with the ornamental ones and planted a real quince

Jam is always good :thumbleft:

Here we have "membrillo", which is usually described as quince cheese but it is really a kind of jelly. Very nice it is to. There is a recipe in the Moro cookbook, but should be able to google it too.

Clara x.
