Kuri squash

Post: # 51387Post growsome »

I ordered these seeds and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these or other winter squash? I know they are vine-like, but can you train them to grow upwards on a pole or trellis, or is it more like a sprawling vine?

I wonder whether these are the ones that Diana grows... their name sounds like cheeky curry or something!

Thanks everyone! Lots of info there. And the recipes look good on the first site, too. Still not sure whether these can be trained to grow up, though. I will take on the challenge and find out soon enough.

We planted some pumpkins in the small patch a couple of years ago, and they grew up in the shelter belt trees behind and made their way up the trellis

Great picture! If you can do it with pumpkins, it should be no problem with squash. Thanks!
