Hi from Canterbury NZ

Post: # 51059Post Kiwi »

Hi,
I followed Bonniegirl in here after she posted the link on another forum, glad she did I have already copied some recipes.
I am 6th generation Kiwi, and live on a small farmlet of 3.5 acres. I have just sold this property in North Canterbury South Island NZ, and am moving to another farmlet of 2.5 acres in Oxford North Canterbury with my 3 boys, 1 cat, 4 chooks and 8 ewes.
This site looks to be just what I need to give me tips and ideas on setting myself on the track to semi self sufficiency.

Well blow me down Kiwi, you live about 5 kilometres from me. I live in Bradleys Road. Welcome to the Forum. You have clicked on to the right place.

Hey Jack wondered where you got to... this does look like a good site for what I need to learn....Did you get to the fair at Swannanoa this year??? we made $54,000 and $41,000 of that goes to the school, the rest pays the bills... biggest crowd we've had, not bad for a bunch of parents and at lot of support ay?...

Hi Kiwi, No, I am not Woo Poo. I live opposite Verkerk's Farm on Bradleys Road. It was pretty run down when we bought 5 years ago. I'm a retired chippy so I could see the potential. We went to the Fair. No wonder you did so well. It was the biggest I've seen. The last time we went, about 3 years ago, there were only a few stalls.
Congratulations. We also go to the Oxford market. We might see you there.

Where abouts in England is Woo Poo, Andy?

Got me buggered. We have a Woo Coo.

All the local streets and suburbs in our little Shire are all British. It was the British that settled/developed our countries... so i guess they named them after their homelands, farms etc. If it's not Aboriginal, then it tends to be British.
