Hi everyone

I have had a good couple of days. Yesterday, i went and picked up a sewing machine from a freecycler, it was an older one, situated inside a small table, it great,

Today i have been making biscuitsm cakes, and the most wonderful soup for my hubby who is poorly today.

jsut waiting for a visitor, who is coming to talk to me about home educating, she pulled her son two days ago, and needs someone to talk too.

cheers maggie.

Good score on the machine, maggie. Glad you had a good day. I spent mine moving goats around and hiding from the heat and making, (or rather applying transfers) to T'shirts.

Quite a good feeling looking over at them all hanging on the fish tank.

Daughter 2 made a cake... but it has already gone!

...am a sucker for chocolate cake...

I just halved my crew last weekend, and sent the Toggenburg and Saanans packing. I am just back to my boer herd of 6 now. They were my original crew, but I took the others on when folks had trouble housing or feeding them. My girls have all bred late, but are beginning to show now. A new family has moved into the area and are keen to set themselves up with a four legged family, so the milkers have gone down there.

Goats are cool critters, huh? Heaps of personality.

OH YES!! I'm a relative newcomer to goats... we've got three saanen and they are wonderful.

Maggie - I hope that your hubby is feeling better soon.

We had a vet come to last Thursday's smallholders meet to do a goat talk. I'd often wondered about getting goats but he scared me with talk of CAE, Joannes disease, zoonoses, dietary problems and apparently we have a specific problem around here with high molybedenum(sp?) levels that reduces the copper levels in goats that can be a problem too. I still would like goats in the future as the ones I have had any contact with have been real characters! Oh hum one day......

Kind thoughts
Deb

i love my goats, if i ha the room or a field nearby that i could rent i would increase them ten fold tomorrow.

they are happy, go lucky animals, with a beautiful temprement. don't let anyone put you off having them, i have had my oldest two nearly 4 years now and they have never had anything wrong with them.

give them love and affection and a dry shed for the night and the will give you a truely wonderful gift

Fresh goats milk every day. nothing quite like it

Lucky you guys with your goats, I won't be getting any until next year, :crybaby:

I had a good afternoon though, went by the local thrift store and found a good old fashioned enamel canner, with the rack and all  . And I got a chair, we have been short 2 chairs for over a year. :(

I learned how to can the old fashioned way and nobody here or anyone we ever gave anything to got sick.

Now just to find rings, I lost a bagful when someone moved out :angryfire:

Rick got a days work and maybe tomorrow too.

So its been a good day :thumbright:

Lois
