We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.
I've just joined up so I thought I'd better introduce myself I'm a 25 yr old lass who's just finally bought a house in Northampton. I've been interested in self sufficiency for a while now, but am only just really getting started so no doubt I'll be asking quite a few questions along the way lol.
I'm afraid I'm not very good at the whole introduction thing so if you want to know anything else about me then just ask.
Hi, Phoenixangel. What selfsufficientish things are you interested in? Growing veggies? Keeping chickens? Alternative energy? How much space have you got?
Andy - Cool, I like Northampton, it's way better than where I used to live (Rugby) the ash and smog from Rugby cement was awful, especially as I used to live 2 streets away from it.
Chickpea - Well I like the idea of being entirely self sufficient, I'd love to buy a plot of land and build a completely eco-friendly, self-sufficient home, but I can't see that happening until I'm about 80 lol so I'm about to start work on the house we've just got, its a little 2 bedroom place with a reasonable sized garden, I have no idea how big it is (I'm rubbish at estimating that kind of thing) but it has 2 sheds and quite a bit of planting space so I'm going to get some fruit, veg and herbs growing out there, and we're looking at getting allotment space too. we're looking into alternative energy as a future option (ie when we can afford to do it). So yeah thats where I am so far but I'm still looking for more ideas that I can use.
Thanks again for the welcome, I've had a chance to look around the site and forum a bit more now, it's great, I can see it's going to be a huge help to me.
