Is this the grower's version of snow blindness? Every day I meticulously pick all the runner beans that are ready, only to find, three minutes later, that I've missed about two dozen of the buggers. I've only got six plants, so it's not as if there are plenty of places for them to hide. Often they are in clear view, but I've just not seen them.
Anybody else get this? Is there a special pair of glasses I can get that will help?

Hi MP, I get it too, but not just with beans, I get it with my apple tree, fair enough both are green veg/fruit growing on a green plant with green camoflage all around, but I also get tomoto blindness, weird as the tomotoes are red and the plants are green, I go in and pick ripe toms walk out the greenhouse only to walk back in when spotting more ripe toms through the glass...... at last you're not alone

I can see where you are coming from, I tend to go back and find huge beans that have sometimes even hardened on the plant as they have been left on for so long.
