Beef olives (beef wrapped around an oatmeal mixture) here, tatties and some veg or another. Not much growing that is ready to pick in our veggie patch but we'll have some lettuce/salad leaves.

Home-made vegetable quiche is in the oven as I type. Broad beans were delivered in the organic box today so we'll eat them quick before they turn into starchy bullets. More lettuce was also delivered in the organic box but we're picking quite a lot of lettuce off the allotment so we'll have cooked lettuce as a side dish. No really, cooked lettuce is gorgeous. Shred it and a few spring onions, cook them in melted butter until the lettuce wilts, add salt and pepper then turn the heat low and cover the pan for 5 minutes. Add cream and serve. Then there'll be a big allotment salad of lettuce, radishes, tomatoes and whatever else is in the fridge. And with any luck Ed will bring a bottle of wine home to go with it.

well I have loads of potatoes to go through as we get a bag each week from our veggy box and it's just been too hot for me to even think about them. Anyway, tonight I'll be making a little bit of mash, with some chicken drumsticks and some... wait for it... home grown peas!!!! Can't wait. Off to pick them now!
