Anybody in the UK Gardening?
Is anybody gardening in the UK this year? I seem to be the only person posting.

Re: Anybody in the UK Gardening?
iv got a few flowers on the go, but im not in the UK.
i thought you were in canada?
iv started some venus fly trap seeds. no traps yet, just leaves so far. iv got no idea about this plant and im a bit concerned its not get traps yet. iv read they only ever get 7 leaves at a time and i think mine are close to 7 just now. we'll wait and see what happens.
i sowed lots of seeds id collected form gardens in the uk. including various poppies, hoochera and lots of other things i dont know the name of at the moment ( got it written somewhere ) but nothing has come up.
i also plants lots of bulbs, dafodils, various crocus and tulips, but they were a few years old and i think we only got 3 out of about 50 bulbs that germanated. there was also some other mixed bulbs i got in a packet ( cant remember what they were ) and iv just noticed theres about 5 of them came up but they are struggling amist the jungle which is our garden. i didnt reaslise i planted them in the middle of other bulbs which were already established and they are getting a bit suffocated.
not done too well on the flower front, been busy with the edible plants this year.
oh and iv got some lovely new alliums too which my mother-in-law gave me

I most definitely am, but I'm not in the UK so not relevant.
Mind you, I rather like being irrelevant.

Yes I am too buzy gardening to post pictures and latin names of things, plus when I do a job my camera's always flat, and I don't want to get it covered in Mud, I am also not really a blogger type.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Yup, very busy garden here too. Or at least would be if it wasn't for those darned slugs and snails. Winning the battle at the moment but unless you want photos of all the weeds I'm not keeping on top of, or half eaten plants, there's not a whole lot to see yet.

Peas
Courgettes

Parsnips

Hell yes. Weather's been a bit bloody weird though, and I've been having terrible trouble with the pigeons...

Let us see some pictures. Gardening and Camera fit like a glove. They are Siamese twins. Everybody has a camera these days.

Re: Anybody in the UK Gardening?
I don't have a camera---not even a camera on my cell phone. I don't want one and don't plan to get one until I can't get a cell without it anymore.Durgan wrote:Let us see some pictures. Gardening and Camera fit like a glove. They are Siamese twins. Everybody has a camera these days.
That being said, I guess I am selfish because I really do enjoy seeing photos of other people's gardens.
Also, I am not in the UK, but I am doing a lot of gardening as I do each year. This year we cut back somewhat, and are only growing;
Tomatoes
Beets
Cucs
Peppers
Sweet Corn
Green Beans
Lettuces
Melons
Asparagus
Onions
Potatoes
Strawberries
Zuchs
A few herbs
Weather here has been pretty mild, exept the past five days, which were HOT. But now we are back to mild (almost cold last night).
Orchard Fruit
