With all the icy weather over most of Europe, today down our little peninsula it is a lovely springlike day.
Lots of blue sky, bright sunshine, no wind and the temperature at the moment (12:30) is +15c.

Sorry about the gloaty post but we have had continuous rain since Halloween.

Glorious sun up here too although a little colder.

I was supposed to be going to Inverness today, with a friend, but the van wheels were frozen solid and the car was having a "bugger off it's too cold to move" day and wouldn't start.

I could go on a huge rant about why I love living here but I won't bore everyone!I got dragged half way round the world from Uk to Australia when I was 9 years of age,stayed there for 30 years,and been back in the UK for 12 years.I do love it here.The grass is'nt always greener on the other side.I could return to Oz anytime but I am staying here.

I can definitely say that the North/South divide starts at Cirencester. There was no snow at all in Swindon this morning as soon as I got past Cirencester, I was driving in the tyre tracks through the snow.

well we also had snow and to prove it two very baffled cats. If you look closely though there was only about 1-2" and it had gone by morning. Unfortunately lots of slush but at least carrying water was no longer needed as the pipes had defrosted

Parts of the Netherlands had -23 C last week and over here on the German border we had -15 C. The winter had been so extremely mild up till then, that my laurel and fig and some other herbs were unprotected. Oops...

Ah, West Cork, A Place Apart, where the weather is always lovely.
As when my other half took me for a drive over from Glengariff to Kenmare over the mountains telling me all the way what a lovely view it was that I couldn't see for the fog...

Yes well, that's why it's "A Place Apart" cos what ever the weather is everywhere else, it's bound to be different here.
Normally raining though, or blowing a gale, or sea fog, but very occasionally we get sunshine.

So here we are more or less in the foothills of Snowdonia complete with a new 4 x 4 and a pantry full of food. Result? No snow, no signs of snow, very little frost (lot of rain of course, it IS Wales). We've actually been gardening for the last two days. I can't believe what we've been seeing on the news lately, although I can actually see the snow up on the mountains...

It does make me laugh, the press and TV are reporting the bad weather permanently why? Well because it's London effected, when as much of the population is effected elsewhere you don't hear about it.

Not only are we over run with Media Hyperbole, but it's SE biased as well.

Still it's a bit chilli in Cornwall.

I love Glengariff, I want to go back soon.
