hi from valencia
buenos dias compañeros,, bristol boy now settled in spain. 2 and half years ago my lovely girlfriend and i faced the task of clearing a 13x7 metre jungle out the back of her dad's office and then remove an even 2 foot layer of rubble to expose some of the best soil i've seen. we've now had 2 years of growing organic veg for us and anyone else when the baskets overflow. last year we had 60 odd tomato plants of local and other varieties. i tell you, you needed a pith helmet and a machete to get to the middle and a compass to get back out! never did much gardening before but now we are utterly hooked. lots of love and luck with all you plant folks xx

Valencia. it's knee deep in oranges and lemons at the mo. big fat oranges straight from the tree, we know a little abandoned plot where you can grab bagfuls. the taste is like a firework display in your head!

Re: hi from valencia
hello!
i used to live in greece, there was this street we'd walk down on our way home that had rows of orange trees allong the pavement. when the oranges were ripe they were just fallingto the ground and getting mushed, so we would pick as much as we could carry every time we went past. they were the most amazingly sweet juicy oranges iv ever tasted. so much better picking them ripe from the tree than buying it from the supermarket in the uk. that goes for eveything not just oranges :)

it's impossible to 'peel' a fresh orange. the skin is tough and spongy. it explodes and you end up with most of it on your front and face. and you're right it does go for everything else. we grow our own 'tomate valenciana' . green, patches of pinky red, knobbly. taste like 7th heaven. supermarkets should be ashamed of the toms they sell. round, red and Rubbish

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!
