Pomegranate Vinegar

The whole reason for the selfsufficientish website was to offer a place where anyone can ask, HOW DO I...? So who knows why it has taken us so long to have a HOW DO I? section, but here it is. So if you want to know how to do anything selfsufficientish then here is the place to ask.

Pomegranate Vinegar

Post: # 247281Post okra »

For us pomegranates are in season but shop bought ones can be used to make some pomegranate vinegar which adds a gorgeous flavour and aroma to many salads.

The vinegar is easy to make, just add a handful of pomegranate seeds to two cups of white wine vinegar. Mix well and store in an airtight pre-sterilised jar for 1-2 weeks to allow the pomegranate flavour to infuse into the vinegar. After 1-2 weeks, strain the vinegar and store in a pre-sterilsed bottle.

Your pomegranate vinegar will keep in a dark cool place for upto 6 months.
