Dick Strawbridge, I've always thought, is the Heath Robinson of the self-sufficient world. I don't mean that as a criticism - I love reading and watching his stuff. But he comes up with some excruciatingly impractical solutions. Having said that, in doing so he deftly introduces you to all of the pitfalls and problems involved. The world could do with more Strawbridges.
So a definite Yay from me.

I *think* I got it out of the library some years ago and it was a bit rubbish.... I seem to remember there was very little content in it, more of a shiny coffee table book companion of the TV series.... I'll have a look to see if I wrote a review at the time....
you should however all own a copy of the SSish bible.... you know that right??

I've got his practical selfsufficiency book and that is really good. If the one you are looking at is anything like it I would say get it. Then, submit a review on here so the rest of us can see if it is any good!
