Stolen!
I have a wooden shed attached to the side of my house. It isn't much but it's really useful as a shed, greenhouse, clothes drying area etc. During the high winds a few weeks ago, the back door blew down and broke. My builder fixed it as best he could but he warned me that I really needed a new one.
On Saturday, I got home from town to find a door in my front garden. My builder, bless him, had been given it and saved it for me. We arranged for him to come round on Thursday evening to fit it. It was obviously old, a bit knackered, and needed a coat of paint but it was fine for the shed.
It was right in my garden, not on the road or anything. Now it's gone. It was definitely there this morning so someone has taken it in broad daylight.
I just can't understand why anyone would bother!

Re: Stolen!
how odd...
maybe they thought it was dumped and took it for firewood thinking it was ok?

Re: Stolen!
I'm thinking of taking a walk around the nearby estate. I bet I'll see it dumped in someone else's garden.
It was just such a bizarre thing to nick.

Re: Stolen!
how strange, to actually go into someones garden to take something, cheeky gits!
the ever growing luvpie household currently contains, 4 boys, 4 chickens, 2 cats, 2 rabbits, 4 fish, an empty tropical fish tank waiting new arrivals, now are we daft to look at our broody hen thinking, if we got some fertilised eggs........

Re: Stolen!
Mind you, someone stole my front door mat a few years ago. I suppose they must have been really chuffed to finally find a door to put it with.

Re: Stolen!
I might have a door here that might be of use. PM me dimensions and I'll measure it.
Re: Stolen!
That is cheeky! Even if they thought it had been dumped you'd think of knocking on to at least ask first! Know your pain, some bugger has nicked something off my lottie this week. What is wrong with some people!?

Re: Stolen!
Not strange here ... leave anything out and it goes ... Put a freezer in our drive .. well away from the road organised the council to collect it at the end of the week ... came home it was gone ...
council thought we had gone mad .. so I have since put crap out and that goes to ... could be another isher recycling ...

Re: Stolen!
Thanks for the PM, but I can't figure a way to reply, probably because I haven't been on this forum long enough. Rather than post my details on the open forum, if you PM me your phone number I will call you and give you my address and directions. Next weekend should be fine for picking it up. The door has a frosted glass and is painted blue and I'm in Devizes.baldybloke wrote:I might have a door here that might be of use. PM me dimensions and I'll measure it.
