help with hummus please

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

help with hummus please

Post: # 22493Post Shirley »

Well... I've just made some hummus.... it's really nice consistency and tastes good APART from the fact that I've quite seriously over garlicked it.... I've no more chickpeas but got some tahini left.... Is there anything I can do or will Ina be able to smell me from about 10 miles away when we go to Thainstone tomorrow??

It's really nice actually... made some home made pitta bread to go with it.

Parsley is the usual thing to use, but I am not sure with humous its the wrong sort of flavour really.

I don't see what is wrong with reaking of garlic personally, but then I don't see what is wrong with reaking full stop.

it is chic to reek apparently... just tastes a little harsh. Got no parsley anyway... might just drink a good robust red with it... and maybe add a bit more lemon juice.

Shirlz love, you certainly won't catch any colds in the near future! Have you got any other tinned beans such as cannilini or butter beans you could pad it out with?

I wouldn't worry, I bet its delicious. Infact.....

I can smell it from here!

If you've got any left over, bring it along tomorrow and we'll stink the same!

I love garlic...
