Do you keep livestock? Having any problems? Want to talk about it, whether it be sheep, goats, chickens, pigs, bees or llamas, here is your place to discuss.
I walked through one of the city farms in Bristol the other day. This one has loads of fowl, ckickens, ducks and geese. I noticed that one of the cockerels was mounting a duck. The duck seemed to lay down and let it happen although did let out a quack afterwards.
Is this natural do cockrels mount anything and ducks.. well like anything? The whole experience left mequite confused about the animal world.
We used to have a little Mallard-looking Call Duck who we called Angel (his wife was Tess) - and he would "go for" anything with a beak! The funniest thing I have EVER seen, was the sight of our Maran cockerel Paxo hurtling round and round the paddock with Angel hanging onto his tail feathers with his beak, just waiting for the opportunity to arise as soon as Paxo was sufficiently exhausted! Reader, I have to tell you he had his wicked way in the end too!
All goes back to the earth, and so I do not desire pride of excess or power, but the contentments made by men who have had little. Wendell Berry.
Oh she's alright (he he) and no, Nev, I really think she had a bit of a fit.... just shows you that dear old Bosley dog (who is no longer with us but is still loved) had NO taste when it came to sex!!! He he - I guess it's just protectiveness because she ran off with my hubby's best friend and hurt him bad...
