What a great forum, well where to start? Packed up my job as a geologist a couple of years ago and we decided to try and be as self suffient as we could.
Got about two acres plus a large garden so we grow our own veg and some fruit. Two goats provide milk any spare is made into cheese and yogurt.
Thirty chickens and four ducks mean we can sell eggs.
The heating and cooking is all done by wood which i get for free off the next door estate.
Next years project is to produce some of our own power, so i'll probably be picking someone's brains over that one or tearing my hair out
