Cauliflower Romenesco..lovely leaves...no head!!

Post: # 209324Post battybird »

We have several (2 rows)of these plants on our allotment. Youngest son bought seeds off the internet, started them off and gave them to us as seedlings.
We have plants that are healthy, very tall ..about 3feet, and lots of them but no actual heads have formed! :dontknow:
Ideas anyone??

Wait, could suddenly appear very soon now, usually mid-Sept to mid-Oct

I thought it was a back end plant (winter) but I bought some in Inverness at the beginning of August  So are there strains for different seasons, like psb?

I will wait and see as suggested by Graham, but not hold my breath!! :dontknow:
Adam had no information when he got the seeds He also got lemon cucumbers which are growing madly now but might get frosted before the fruits set! (he just liked the pictures!!)
If we get no heads the leaves will make winter greens!
