my first jam

Post: # 206379Post yvette »

I am so proud - just made my first ever blackberry jam (my grandma having kindly given me her jam pan). And it actually set! And it tastes wonderful! I followed the instructions in the Selfsufficientish handbook and it was more sraightforward than I had expected, and also made a lot more than I expected - I ran out of jars!

Thanks very much Susie, I have to say that this website and forum has given me the confidence to try all sorts of new things this year. Apart from the jam-making, I'm just picking my first aubergines and cucumbers too! I'm so grateful for this brilliant shared resource of knowledge, and also for the moral support (my partner not being as interested in ish mattters as me!).

Well done.

Re-empty jars, try your local 'freecycle/freegle/realcycle' type group.
