Plants for pots
Hi, I know this is a bit of a basic question and forgive me if you've answered it 1000000000 times before. But... what are your recommendations for plants that are good for pots? I've got a couple of spaces in my garden that seem to be asking for a pot but I'm not quite sure what will work there. One of the spaces is outside the front door - our house faces east and is on a main road, so it gets the sun in the morning then light shade for the rest of the day. I'd ideally like something brightly coloured and cheerful, but I don't know what! Another one is just outside the kitchen door, which faces west and gets sun after 3pm but light shade otherwise. I wanted to grow salad leaves there but I thought the lack of sun might be a problem so I've put my salad pots at the back of the garden. Is there something that would work? (Either veg/ flowers/ plant/ anything, just something that would be happy!).

Re: Plants for pots
There should be all sorts of things that are suitable for those situations - as long as you keep the pots watered and fed things should grow.
Chards should do ok and fit the colourfull part. How about Rosemary or Lavender outside the front door. A nice fragrance each time you go past by running your hand through the foliage when you in in and out.

I know this is very lazy, but if you follow this link:

you will see what I have grown in pots this year. I have really just been chucking it in and hoping for the best. I have found that most things will grow provided you water and feed them regularly.
