Distinctly possible - John will be along at some point to explain no doubt.
The reason I can't be more certain is that I've been using the new version for a couple of months now so it's not new to me now. You get used to it quite quickly!

I didn't know i was autistic until i decided i really don't like this. Why even the NEED to change ??? not that i don't appreciate the effort that goes into this site but . . . change for change's sake is mental and annoying.

OK guys I can't begin to explain the technicalities but it really was a necessity to upgrade the forum and this is the new style that goes with the latest version of this board. There were problems with people registering and spam and all sorts so John was sorting that and thought that the new version was only viewable to the most recent new members but it seems it has happened for everyone. As the mods have been testing this version for a while we didn't of course realise there was a change until you mentioned it and it was supposed to be announced to you in advance and the reasons why, so it didn't come as a shock.
I hated it too at first and felt my brain had fried FT but believe me you do get used to it after a couple of days!

You may have clicked on 'quick reply' which allows you to make a quick reply but without the smilies. If you want a smiley just click on 'full editor' whilst you are in the quick reply screen.
