Black spots on Broad Beans
Black spots on Broad Beans
The leaves of my broad bean plants are all covered in black spots which start as tiny specs the grow untill the whole leaf turns black and dies. Any ideas as to what the problem is and what I need to do about it gratefully received. So far I've just been removing the affected leaves but I'm going to end up with bald plants!! The plants appear healthy otherwise.

Not sure what that is! I'm sure someone will be able to tell you, but I'd google it too. I think you're doing the right thing removing any affected leaves.
Sounds like a mould or some other infection to me - are they outdoors or in a polytunnel/greenhouse?

Re: Black spots on Broad Beans
Sounds like a fungal disease called chocolate spot. It is worst in December and January.
Its seldom serious. It helps if you sow your beans thinly to encourage strong growth.
You can spray them with a copper fungicide. I personally would'nt as we grow organically.
I would just remove the most serious affected leaves.
