certainly self sufficiency does cause interest , as i nipped over to my local diy store today to get some fence wire to ( try ) and dissuade my new pussy from jumping into next doors garden - and half a dozen people stopped and commented on my latest trailer - i think they where also surprised to see me strapping a bundle of 2x1 to the scoot as well ( for supports ) - but like i said to them - needs must

plod on patrol eyed me up as usual - but obviously had better things to do - so left me be ( mind they are used to me round here ) - and that trip saved me at least 8 quid in taxi fares - ( or more if i wanted to visit the local B&Q

and unless one is prepared to pay hefty delivery charges - getting things like 8x4 sheets of anything back is virtually impossible - i eyed up the double glazed window i want whilst there and may have to splash out on a taxi to bring THAT back some time - or make sure the tires on the "other ' trailer are well inflated
pity i cant still drive - as i could see an opportunity for a " ring and ride guy " with a flat bed transit - there must be others in my situation that need things "today " NOT when these firms get round to it ( and of course cant help you in with stuff ( h & s AGAIN - as they may hurt their backs ) - just like our bin men - wont lift anything heavy - ye gods the old time bin men who used to throw a full bin of ashes on their backs and carry them some distance before emptying them into a "manual " truck must be laughing in their graves at the pussies we have today doing the job - all they have to do is wheel a bin and let a machine do the hard work
oops sorry gone off on about 4 tangents here

i need to lie down in a darkend room .........................
