Dryer drum and old microwave ideas pls!

Post: # 183114Post Jessiebean »

Well that's about it really- I have a beautiful stainless steel drum from the inside of an onld tumble dryer left when our tenant left- the outside of the dryer will be used in our impending chicken coop but I would love some ideas for using the drum. there is a mesh covered hole in the bottom so I was thinking a planter of some kind....also what would you do with a couple of old microwaves..(same tenant left us these too.. yay!.. also fleas) would chickens sit in them?

mate of mine has a washing machine drum with 3 legs welded onto it and uses it as a brazier / fire pit

Saw a microwave used as a mail box at the end of someones track. - your local authority will prob recycle the microwaves? - ours takes all dead electric appliances for recycling at the 'depots'.

I do like to burn things but with my maniacal children running about it would give me the screaming willies!
We normally take metal things to the scrap metal guy (we have three in our suburb!) for a wee bit of pocket money but just wanted to scope for some canny ideas before I did!

By all means take the plates out f the microwave to re-use but whatever you do DO NOT take them apart - it's dangerous!

could you put wheels / casters on the bottom and turn it into a storage 'tin' for the kids toys? or screw it onto a wall - with the opening facing out to also act as funky storage?
