Snow chains - fantastic. Have you thought of crocheting them in wire? I've been looking at making some baskets using wire. And you can do jewellery in silver etc.

i wans thinking of wire, but as i thought more i realised actual metal ones i'd have to take off when i hit a non-snowy or non-icy patch, this way i can leave them on no matter what surface i am walking on (unless it's dry concrete or tarmac).

they work sooooo well. I wore them to the hospital, down into town and then for a walk along our icy pathway and they're sooo cool!!!

they make perdy patterns in the snow too.

 how weird is this? - I've just been making some out of rug wool (wool/nylon mixture) just a mesh pattern though - nowhere near as pretty as those - well done MrsF

Dear Mrs Flilbble,
May we offer you the opportunity, to make a quick Quid or so by offering you our expertise in the marketing field, of representing your Non Skid Strap on Thingy in our new Catalog and I think we would envisage an initial order of 1500 units, but of course we would need them before the weekend. Looking forward to your reply,

They are fab, my imagination must be severely affected because I would never have dreamed of anything like that.
