All I can say is  . Can these things be recycled or sent somewhere to be repurposed? That seems so wasteful.

That is absolutely disgusting. The landowner will now have to pay to have that lot cleared up. Have you told the police? or the local council. Fly tipping is a big problem and many councils are now taking it very seriously.

people do reload shotgun cartridges .. but I think it would be a lot of effort to get that sorted, there are SO many of them there!

For one very scary moment I thought they were used syringes!

Can the police not fingerpint them? & then work out which gun club dumped them?

Just a thunk.

Fly tipping (even in that blatent capacity) is not really a police matter unfortunately, if its public/council land its down to the countryside rangers to get rid of it for the most part though contacting the environment agency to let them know is also useful so they can keep an eye on suspicious activity such as this.. If they can they will try and get evidence against the dumpers and take them to court.

I can imagine you were pretty appalled to find this mess. I know I would be!!! :angryfire:

Are they dangerous - apart from the obvious huge amounts of rubbish hanging round the countryside? Are they toxic or anything. The reason I'm asking is that rather than just getting them shifted - could you make anything with them, something that you could sell back to them for large quantities of their readies

I have no idea what, but it would seem like some sort of retribution.

That is terrible. I am so angry! :angryfire: I'd be tempted to get the local newspaper involved. I also like Russian Doll's idea.

Welcome to the the ways of the country-side. I'm not saying it's right, but this is the way it is. Here, where i live, the landowners tend to dictate what goes on....... they are the "money people" & have a massive influence on what goes on locally. Unfortunately, in this country, if you have money......... you have power. Blimey! we was only talking about gun cartridges
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.
