Mum to be

Well we have a mum to be
One of white bantums is sitting on four eggs from a friends black as well as four red pheasent eggs. She is clucking away quietly to herself and seems content.
So hopefully our flock of chickens will increase by four plus the welcome addition of the pheasents, although I have been teasing the OH about cooking them up for a sunday dinner

What will you do with the pheasents if you don't have them for dinner?

2 black bantums were born early this morning, will take photo and post shortly, as for the pheasents OH will want to either sell them or breed more.
She often reminds me how much she dislikes my idea of food, Offal, you know the good stuff , livers, kidneys, sweatbreads, mountain oysters, brains, tounge heart
or unusal meats, rabbit, possum, croc, wallaby, kangaroo, certain grubs, pan fried grashoppers, chocolate coated ants
no I'm not kidding, I even want to try Bat at some point
but back to birds, we'll most likely keep them and get some non relatives to breed with

hey I do like normal food, humbugs, custard pies, chard quiche, poprk,chicken etc, oh and here are the photos sorry, they proved to be sightly camera shy

and have the pheasants hatched yet? Can't really see the chicks very well in that little photo!

no pheasents haven't hatched yet, hope theu're not duds
