Mum to be

Post: # 173260Post homegrown »

Well we have a mum to be

One of white bantums is sitting on four eggs from a friends black as well as four red pheasent eggs. She is clucking away quietly to herself and seems content.

So hopefully our flock of chickens will increase by four plus the welcome addition of the pheasents, although I have been teasing the OH about cooking them up for a sunday dinner

her response is :shaking:
Our remote ancestors said to their mother Earth, "We are yours."
Modern humanity has said to Nature, "You are mine."
The Green Man has returned as the living face of the whole earth so that through his mouth we may say to the universe, "We are one."

What will you do with the pheasents if you don't have them for dinner?

2 black bantums were born early this morning, will take photo and post shortly, as for the pheasents OH will want to either sell them or breed more.

She often reminds me how much she dislikes my idea of food, Offal, you know the good stuff , livers, kidneys, sweatbreads, mountain oysters, brains, tounge heart

or unusal meats, rabbit, possum, croc, wallaby, kangaroo, certain grubs, pan fried grashoppers, chocolate coated ants

no I'm not kidding, I even want to try Bat at some point

but back to birds, we'll most likely keep them and get some non relatives to breed with
