Silverbeet?

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Silverbeet?

Post: # 15519Post Wombat »

G'Day All,

I seem to remember that someone had a good recipe to curry up some silver beet but I can't find the thread. Can somebody help me out?

Thanks

Was that me and spinach beet? Is silver beet the same thing? I seem to recall having some of that in NZ and hating it because it was very bitter. But then that was a long time ago and I even eat egg white now that I am a big girl!!

Actually here is the bit I wrote (for some reason can't get back in and edit my last post??)

I made a curry last night and spent about an hour washing and chopping the spinach beet. Had to use my largest pan and sweat it down in two batches before I could cook with it there was so much! Cooked it with onions, garlic, ginger, fennel seeds, cardamoms, ground cumin and some creamed coconut. It was delicious - and lots left over for tonight!
