The town that was eaten by T***o

Post: # 14748Post ina »

Lots of good stuff in today's Sunday Herald:

More oil on my, ergh, strong dislike of everything supermarket: http://www.sundayherald.com/54688

Also on the subject of T***o - seems that they are moving into the funeral business now, too. Buy your coffin along with the pot noodles and plonk; or, if you shop online - "You drop, we get you..."

In other articles, same paper: Dounreay is leaking http://www.sundayherald.com/54715; Funding for cycle lanes cut by 30% http://www.sundayherald.com/54711.

Did I say good stuff in the paper? More like one disaster after the other!

The only really quite funny stuff is not online: I think it was in Norway where a woman found she had beer coming out of her kitchen tap... The workmen connecting up the pipes in the pub below had made a mistake.

I'd heard about the tescotown bit before - but not to such a depth.... I know that no matter how hard up I am I will not resort to working for T***o - they are opening two more stores within 30 miles of me.

T***o doing supermarket funerals.. oh boy, that really is shop til you drop isn't it.

I would like to have beer coming out of my tap please.. pretty please...!! Only 4 miles to my local.. do you think it could be arranged??

I think you need to have a word with the local plumber!

My "local" is also 4 miles away, and I've never been there. Sad, really, isn't it. And that although I'm always eager to support local businesses.

If we want to do any drinking, it'll really end up being a crawl - us crawling the 4 miles back up the hill!

When I lived on Loch Lomond, my "local" was 15 miles away. I cycled. Quite hilly, most of it single track. Oooh, oooh - not so good after 6 pints...

I think we'd better wait for what passes as summer around here - it's just too b***y cold to go walking or cycling in the middle of the night!
