You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

I have about 15 in the fridge :pale: and about 10 cucumbers but luckily I'm going to a BBQ tomorrow and I'm taking them all along in the hope there will be some takers!

I've never done anything to preserve courgettes so I don't have any recipes, sorry!

But I do like griddling them brushed with a bit of olive oil and oregano and eating them with feta cheese crumbled all over them, which goes wonderfully with them. Griddle a few slices of onion and some tomatoes as well and it is heaven. :thumbright:

There is a good green tomato chutney recipe from the river cottage cookbook, I made it last year... uses as many courgette as you like really. In fact I think I typed it up last year for someone...

Also, courgette bread is good, pretty much a cup full of grated courgette in an ordinary loaf recipe, lovely and moist.

I must have been late getting ours started, we still haven't had one courgette :(

Nearly forgot, there's the wonderful courgette cake recipe posted years back on this forum. Try a forum search for 'courgette cake'. Then you can freeze it. My french friends still talk about my green cake.

Ha ha only if they are inundated with the things themselves.... and back in April I wasn't.

I might balk at it right now though.
