Hello from the West Coast of Canada
Hello All
I live in a small town in Coastal British Columbia. We have been living a simple life for quite some time and that allows us to enjoy a quiet life with only the need to work a couple of days a week. We have found a little paradise on the coast here.

Ish is the name of this site Self SufficientISH and that's Margo from the Good Life. The more you post you progress through the characters from the TV series. If you've never heard of the The Good Life I think that's because it was called 'Good Neighbours' in the USA, although I don't know about Canada.

of course that is Margo Leadbetter, why didn't I recognize her? I used to live in England and know the show well. My favourite line is when Margo goes to the grocery store for the first time by herself and looks around for a clerk to get all her groceries. Seeing none she says something like
"Well, if no one is going to help me, I am going to help myself!"
Penelope Keith is a wonderful actress.
Thanks
We have a program here called Fruit Tree Project. Someone has a tree they can't pick. A bunch of us volunteer to pick the tree, give some to the owner, some to a charity and walk home with a big bag of fruit ourselves. We don't want it attracting bears.
Today I am off to pick free cherries.

Hello and welcome, Kally
Whereabouts are you located? Mrs Mal wants to emigrate to somewhere that has summers where the sun shines, and she absolutely loves Canada having been there as a student - I'm always interested in getting information about what life's like over on the west coast because it's there that gets my vote!

I am in a small town above Vancouver. It is called powell river and is really pretty. It takes 2 ferries and a drive to get to Vancouver so we are a bit isolated, but it is lovely here.
I was born in England, moved to Victoria BC, then Vancouver for many years and then up the coast.

Hiya Kally, welcome to Ish!
I like your fruit tree Project... Was just discussing something like that with a friend from Germany, whose parents have the problem of loads of trees and nobody to pick... And the (grow up) kids aren't interested, either - sad, really!
