Lime Tree

We have a lime tree that has one lime on it, it did have quiet a few more on the tree but they keep just falling off
Its growing quiet well but has not yet produced any more fruit..... please help any advice on keeping lime trees?

We had a similar problem with a lemon tree.

I think you need specialist fertiliser - one type for spring/summer and one type for autumn/winter - I've not tried it as we're currently battling scab on said tree.

I want to chuck it but OH is battling bravely (and losing ).

Thanks Green Aura, sorry for the delay in replying but have been battling lizards away from our veggie patch..
we dont really have a cold season (Autumn/Winter) here as we live in Tenerife....hence the Lizard problem. No slugs....the occasional snail, if it rains lots. Do you think we would need a specialist Citrus fertilizer? Since the last post I have bought and planted an Orange tree as well that seems to be holding its own. So maybe I just need to do a bit more research on citrus trees in a hot climate. Thanks for your advice anyway.

Are there citrus orchards where you live? Do people in your neighbourhood have citrus trees in their gardens? If so can you ask one of your neighbours or friends who have them what they do?

Even moisture, good light, and lots of calcium are the only tips I can give. 3 of my 4 citrus trees died in 2007 when I was laid up with a back injury and couldn't water them for almost 2 months. But I did notice before then that if they didn't get enough water they'd tell you by dropping fruits and flowers.

Yep i'd put my money on this being the reason they have been dropping fruit
