pepper flower already!!

Post: # 151075Post Chicken6 »

This must be my year on the plot - Finally

My tomatom plants are going into the PT border as they are two big now and the other plot holders say they are the best on the plot (time will tell)
and I can't believe that I alreay have two flowers on my sweet pepper plants.

The type is Sunny Brook and they were the weakest of the three types I'm growing but as plants two of the few that grew are the best out of the 35 plants I have. I as a flower now open and both are really strong plants.

Another type Sweet Chocolate also has a flower just about to open.

So my question to is am i going to have to get the paint brush out to ensure I get the fruit or will these early flowers just fall off.

I'm just so thrilled that they are doing so well. Whilst the warm weather has been here I've been taking them outside and putting them in the two mini greenhouses and bring them back inside at about 4 in the afternoon so I guess they love the daylight.

I havent got any flowers on mine yet, although they are looking alot healthier and stronger than they did this time last year. I started mine off much earlier this year though, on the windowsills inside. I have repotted them twice now and they all look pretty strong, as do the chillis.

Today is the first day I have put them all outside for a little sunshine, and I shall bring them in before the temp drops too much.

I was thinking of putting them in the mini greenhouse now but am worried that they arent quite ready. So I will do as you have been doing and bring them in and out of the house for a while longer. :flower:

It's great isn't it when everything seems to go the right way.

I read that the sweet peppers can go in the PT in May when the night temp goes up to 10 degrees I'm really tempted to put them in now but I would hate it if I lost them. I know they are an early type but never expected flowers so ealry as this.

See, I do everything the way it probably shouldn't be done.....

My tommys are planted up in the outside beds now - they spent a week under a cloche, but are doing well without, so we shall see....

And then3 days ago, I stood the baby peppers in the poly-house... and they're doing really well so far!

Still have to pop soil in the raised beds inside the polyhouse, but that should be 2moro, fingers crossed
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden
