I guess I'm kindof sad but I got so excited when one of my hens started laying at the weekend, she's only 16 weeks and we've had an egg of her everyday since saturday. I feel so proud
Looking forward to being sufficientish

Don't consider yourself 'sad'. What's better than marvelling at the miracle of nature?

Enjoy your eggs and continue to be excited about your eggs.

If you're sad, I'm sad! We got our first egg on Monday - I think it's just the one hen laying so far (she's about 18 weeks old) and we have had a grand total of 3 small eggs. The second one was even a double yolker! I don't know how she managed to squeeze 2 yolks into that tiny little egg, but she did it. So we're now up to about 50p that they have paid us back of the set-up costs :cooldude:

and the taste? OMG they are the nicest eggs ever ever ever !!

and they LOVE ground elder, they are seriously eating their way through it, I wish I knew that earlier I would have got them years ago !!

I still get quite amazed at finding the eggs... part of me thinks some little elf has sneaked into the garden to leave 2 perfect clean eggs in the nest box every day :flower:
