Flax seed bedding for chooks
Surely it is better to have grown it and eaten it than never to have grown it all?

Re: Flax seed bedding for chooks
I don't have chickens so I'm not sure about that aspect but I do know a bit about flax.
Is it just the husks? If it is I think it would be pretty good - when it gets damp it curls up and lets air in so it doesn't go fusty easily. However if it's whole flax seeds then if it gets wet it'll swell up.
I guess the main thing is how clean are chickens where they nest - if they pee the bed you might find them pressed to the top of the bedding box on top of a load of pee-swelled seeds
