81 predictions for 2009

101 Uses For is popular and let's hope it stays that way. Our second book is presently called 101 tips for self sufficiency; we will certainly dip into this section for ideas. So post away and let's try and get at least one thread up to 101.

81 predictions for 2009

Post: # 134957Post Andy Hamilton »

Ok decided to do a different number for this one just to see if we can get to 81 before 2009, so I guess that is the first prediction.

1. This thread will get to at least 81 before or by 2009
2. House prices will drop by at least 20% by the end of the year
3. Growing your own vegetables will increase by 50% (due to rising food prices and the recession)
4. Petrol (Gas) prices will increase, globally.
6. The word "selfsufficientish" will enter the Oxford English Dictionary and in the following years will be commonly used.

7. (Well 6 actually but I'm not going to be the one to point this out  ) The media will continue to tell us all that we're doomed until November when even the BBC will get fed up with it and tell us that we are coming out of recession.
8. The UK will have a hot summer apart from during the six weeks to the end of August when it will rain solidly.
9. We won't have a general election.
10. Base rate will fall to zero but it will make no difference to the economy whatsoever.

11. Gorgon Brown will say "it's all somebody else's fault"

12: (but 11 really - Andy, you'll have to learn to count!) The euro & pound will reach early parity - leaving no option but to convert you all to euros, making my life easier!

How-about 210 before 2010? Maybe we'll be able to buy a euro from Poundland? The word "gullible" will be removed from the dictionary, & the Lords of denim (the mighty Quo) will retire. How manys that, now?
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.
