new person hello

Post: # 132859Post angiemilton »

hello
This is my first attempt at using a chat room so it might be a bit formal to begin. I have looked at the available chats and now I have found one which actually seems to be about things that I'm into. Me and my partner are bringing back to working an old disused nursery site. We began 3 years ago to clear the site and now grow organic veg, plants and we keep 4 kunekune pigs about 100 chickens of various breeds, a few ducks, capucin pigeons, and 3 dogs. Its been hard work we are both broke and smell like compost heaps most of the time, but i wouldn't stop for millions. I would love to chat to anyone about any of the above.

Hello :hello2:

This is more of a message board than a chat room, chat rooms tend to be an instant reply type of thing... but come right on in, it's great here and the people are amazing and friendly! :sunny:

Thanks for welcoming me I feel a bit more at home now, I was starting to think it was a bit like a market research plot with blogs on types of products used etc, I can't remember from one day to the next about important things like dentists and birthdays. I have found a good way around presents though they all get chickens given to them, last year I forgot my brother in laws 50th birthdayand he is a really nice person who is always sorting out my computer. When he visited me with my sister I had just bought a beautiful pair of golden brahmas so I said they were his birthday present as I didn't know what else to get. He was made up with them and named them sylvester and brigid and of course I have to keep and look after them which is all I wanted. He even buys the odd bag of chicken food wicked innit. And as this has worked so well nearly all my family including the children all have their own chickens which is why I have got around 100 chicken of all breeds and the other half doesn't complain to much about the money i spend on them.

Anyone else do anything naughty to save money that they can share
Angie

Hello and welcome! I love the idea of giving chickens as presents - I can just imagine my mother in law's face upon 'opening' her pressie!
