Happy Martinmas from Wigan

Hi Everyone

Just a quick hello from wet and windy Wigan on Martinmas though I don't intend on killing any pigs for salting today!

I've always been into self-sufficiency and have read the main site for ages but only just got around to joining the forum; so I have lots to learn form you lot :)

I live in a flat so my ish-ness is limited but am trying my best. I am waiting for an allotment - don't hold your breath! - and intend to start foraging and what not as soon as possible.

My dream would be to grow my own food, keep goats and make cider . . . ah well, we can but dream!

And yes, StripyPixieSocks us poor souls who live suspended in the air - well, 3 floors up anyway - do have a lot to contribute I think; even simple recycling can be a nightmare cos of storage etc, but we'll get there I'm sure! Love the name btw as I name all my socks, much to peoples disapproval and consternation! lol !
