Hola from another ex pat

Post: # 127812Post benjyevans »

:sunny: Hello, we also live on the Costa del sol near Nerja. Great to find such a friendly site which I found searching for info on growing rhubarb here, which apart from the children its the only thing we miss.... We've had a small veg area for the last couple of years with moderate success and are looking forward to taking over a small plot, untended for a few years, to grow veg without chemicals. We did have a allotment in the uk, near Birmingham, but Im a real beginner here. Still it all good fun and keeps us fit. This years objectives are to join the village quilting circle to get to know more of these lovely people and to improve my Spanish which is very poor.
We have swimming coaching and teaching skills and my husband is a psychologist and hypnotherapist. If we can help anyone who ineeds our skills we're happy to do so.
If anyone has advice on compost tips for poor soil and also advice about wood burnering stoves would be grateful. Mucho beuno

Hola!

Welcome to Ish - How lovely to be by the sea in a warm place. I did Spanish at school when I was *coughs* much younger but I imagine I'd learn much more spanish in a much shorter time by joining with the quilting circle - that sounds like a great idea!

I love your photo - such a happy pic.

 Hola and thanks for the welcome everyone, really great. Apologies not to get back to those with requests. Promise I will when we get back from the uk. Off back the chilly north tomorrow to see the family for my 63rd. How old is that! Also to give no 2 daughter a big hug and share the joy that she's having her first baby.
Hi in Orgiva - how does it compare to Nerja. loved the Chris Stewart books.

Hey! happy birthday too!
Orgiva is great, we have a totally different lifestyle here, colder though! we have 2500m2 that we are working, which includes all kinds of fruit trees mainly oranges and a chilli farm! In Nerja we have the sea but only 3 terraces!
