Sharing Information
Just joined and of course I like the concept of being self sufficient but have no practical skills. Should I look up to see if there are any courses to help me in my quest. Or how do you find like minded people locally willing to share their knowledge. I live in North Essex and am not having much luck in finding locals willing to share. Any suggestions !!!
Re: Sharing Information
Most of us just ask questions on here... No question is too stupid, we have all asked them.
I am the same and I don't know anyone local to me who knows about such things (of course there are always plenty of folk willing to give there tupence worth
but it is rarely helpful advice)
Then there are a few good books out there too... I favour The river cottage cookbook, the selfsufficientish bible and John Seymore's complete guide to self sufficiency.
Another idea might be to join your local freecycle cafe group (a chat group run alongside freecycle, in most areas) and ask on there if there is anything going on in your local area.

Re: Sharing Information
Hello

There's no-one round my area that's bothered, either. There are the allotment folk, but they're only bothered about growing it and eating it, and half of them are chemical gardeners which I've no interest in. Yet I feel I am a part of a community here on Ish. No question is too small, too stupid (the only stupid question is an unasked one), or too big, or too complicated. Ask whatever you need to, and answer whenever you are able to.
