Hello from Surrey!

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hello from Surrey!

Post: # 122183Post Loobyloo »

An official 'hello' from me!

I live in the Surrey hills area (renting so no I'm not rich!) and have been thinking about doing the self sufficiency thing for years. I moved away from Surbiton (I know, the irony!) to the countryside last year and have made some fairly pathetic attempts to grow stuff in my garden (questions to follow about herbs). However I am fairly lazy and in need of motivation so it hasn't gone to plan so far.

I have now decided to get off my arse and get things sorted for next spring and my partner and I ( and the cats) are thinking of moving further west next year where things are cheaper and we can work part time.

Sooo the long and the short of it is I shall be asking lots of potentially stooopeed questions over the next few months! Please bear with me!

Hello to everyone!!

Everyone's so nice here!

and in answer to the question I'm into alternative therapies, cooking (big style!), homemade cosmetics, starting out with growing veg side of things more established as a forager, walking, horse riding (when I can afford it), reading, paganism and a little bit of wicca.

outside of self sufficientish-ism I love rockabilly, tattoos & piercings (yes I have some of both), big American cars (I know how bad for the environment they are but they are soo booootifoool), motorbikes (and yes I have one of these too) and getting drunk with my mates.

So you can see I have a slightly conflicted set of interests!

Anyone else love old school rock and dressing up 50's style?

Hello!
They're not weeds - that's a habitat for wildlife, don't you know?
