conas atá sibh? / how are ye?
cúpla focail gaeilge (few words of Irish) to start off
aswell as having ambitions towards self-sufficiency (-ishness?) i would love to have a better command of our native tongue
have read quite a few threads on this forum over the past while, before getting around to actually posting . . . .
i live with my wife and daughter on a two-acre "inch" (narrow strip of land alongside a road, although it's only two acres,it measures 250 metres + from end-to-end) in the "sunny south-east" of Ireland. we built the house three years ago and were just moved in by the time Emily was born. there has been very little done since tbh, as we enjoyed the early years . . . . getting to work on the garden for next year. we do have a stream running through the place and i have posted in the alternative energy board a question about turbines . . . .
look forward to picking your brains as we set out to reduce our "footprint"

Sorry, can't help you with your native tongue... Could help you with mine, if you ever need a translation from the German!
