Hi from Norfolk!
Hello,
Just wanted to say 'Hi' and provide a short introduction to ourselves. After dreaming for many years, and actively looking for over 3, we have finally completed on Waterloo Farm in Norfolk! Yay!! Which means we can really start to put into practice some of the things we have dreamed about for years - chickens, pigs, veggies, space for the kids to play, explore and enjoy the country and wildlife that lives on it and a whole host of other things to help us and the planet.
We are real 'newbs' compared to most of you lot, that is why we registered. We reckon we are going to need all of your advice and more, and who knows, maybe even provide some in the future!
The house needs quite a bit of work doing straight away but we are raring to go. Here's to the 'good life'!
Cheers, Nigel and Tammy (+kids)

Re: Hi from Norfolk!
Wow.... Welcome!
We're moving to our new home in a couple of weeks & know how exciting it is right now!
Well done you - yes, you'll make mistakes, but isn't that how we all learn?
Good luck for the future, and very happy postings

Hi all at Water-loo farm and welcome to ish.I am probably not too far from you in Norfolk,We have only been here a year and a half but we have some land and a small cottage and now have two raised bed veggie patches,10 chickens(that roam during the day) and I make wine, soap, bread, jam, clothes and home cook my produce and sell my crafts at local fayres, the children live in their wellies and love to be outside even in the rain .We sit out with the chimenea lit(when it has been sunny )in the evenings and light the fire inside all winter and I can honestly say I am living the dream.I hope you will be as happy as we are......
Grow it,make it ,eat it, drink it and sleep well!

Hiya, welcome to SSish! All the best with your new house and farm... Lots of work coming up, I suppose, but along with a lot of "job satisfaction"!

Norfolk is a lovely part of the world, North of Norwich is still good value for money with some super opportunities.SarahJane wrote:Hi and welcome from me too!

Hi Clare - this all sounds wonderful and very impressed! Looking forward to following in your footsteps...I hope the kids will start to 'adopt' the outside space and live in their wellies to.clare wrote:Hi all at Water-loo farm and welcome to ish.I am probably not too far from you in Norfolk,We have only been here a year and a half but we have some land and a small cottage and now have two raised bed veggie patches,10 chickens(that roam during the day) and I make wine, soap, bread, jam, clothes and home cook my produce and sell my crafts at local fayres, the children live in their wellies and love to be outside even in the rain .We sit out with the chimenea lit(when it has been sunny )in the evenings and light the fire inside all winter and I can honestly say I am living the dream.I hope you will be as happy as we are......
