Hello from the Midwest!

Post: # 112576Post simplespirit »

Good Morning!

I am a 40-something mom of four (and wife of one  ) living in the Midwest of the US.

After searching for a house we could afford on 10+ acres, dh and I realized that the only home to be found on that amount of property was a 'fixer' and my dh wanted no part in that! We had rebuilt a 110+ yr old farmhouse as our starter house and really wanted to relax and enjoy growing food, not putting in drywall!

So, we 'settled' for a house in need of nothing but a family which sits on just one acre. Thus- we are not homesteading as much as we had wanted but I am able to grow a very large garden and zoning will allow chickens once we build the coop and erect the fence.

Nice to meet you all...

Hi simplespirit
:wav:
My back garden's about 20 feet long by about 15 feet wide, and I have a half sized allotment. All are rented. I'd give my right arm for a little acre

Greetings.
An acre seems to get bigger the older you get

Hi Simplespirit :thumbright: . Confucian saying ... one acre is vast when one needs to mow the lawn.
