Hello from Derbyshire

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hello from Derbyshire

Post: # 111100Post Badger Bob »

Hello folks, just found this site and it is pretty amazing. My self-sufficient-ish credentials are pretty slim at the moment but I'm hoping to learn more. I refuse to drive, I'm fat enough despite walking and cycling most places, if I sat behind the wheel of a car I would look like comic-book guy in no time. I also love to forage, especially autumn fruit for wines and crumbles. Since my father "owns" the garden I have no say in ripping up his precious flower beds but I do like to grow herbs in containers and I am thinking of branching out into dwarf veggies.

I am also waiting for the family to go on holiday to sneak some bantams in, I used to keep Wyandottes and Oxford English Games and I still miss having a "real" egg for breakfast. In green terms I am still apple-white but hoping to learn and implement over the next few years.

Cheers me ducks!

Cheers folks!

Green Aura - I was born in Belper and I have lived within 10 miles ever since (apart from living in Sheffield as a sudent). I tend to pine if I get too far away from the Derwent :pale:

What a small world - I've spent many happy hours at the Queen's Head on Chesterfield Road.
