Jumper for mum

Post: # 110643Post Brij »

Look what I did!

(and for those of you on the chat room, notice how good I am at wearing clothes, please!)

It's for my mum, she's about the same size as me, so I modelled it up a bit

The back...

I'm really sorry if the pictures are too big for anyone's connection, I don't know how to reduce them. If it's a big problem, leave a message and I'll
have a go again.

I mostly followed a pattern (for the first time in my life!) which was free online, and I'll send to anyone who wants it... but the sleeves I just made
up as I went along, and I picked them up rather than sewing them on after... I don't like finishing!

Ah. That link keeps going awry... I've fixed it before, so not quite sure why.

It's my mum's jewellery site, at http://www.wishbone-jewellery.com if you want to take a peek :)

Is that a cherie Amour?

I desperately want to make one, i bought some yarn and started, and then got lost in the lace of the bottom...i need to frog it and start again at some point...

It is indeed a Cherie Amour! Well spotted!

Like I said though, by the time I got to the sleeves I went freestyle, since my mum wanted baggy sleeves that are roll-up-able. So the extra bit of ribbing sorted that out, and I decided to slip stitch at the edge of the sleeve holes so I could pick up stitches and do the sleeves that way instead of sewing them on after.

I get lost following lace patterns too, I try to do the first 4 rows slowly and carefully and then after that my hands sort of remember the pattern for me.

Really lovely. Hope your mum loves it.

I'm on Ravelry but haven't knitted for ages. Need to sort that out now!

Just logged into Ravelry and I'm Girl on there. We could start up an KnittingIsh Group over there if anyone is interested?

I'm trying to be a self-sufficient knitter with the fleece I got from the skip ... which reminds me - it needs more washing!

Incidentally - I'm 'jobi1canobi' on ravelry (surprisingly enough!)

I may have to add you all as friends though - seeing as we have two things in common now...
