newspaper shopping bag

I've not round to making one yet but I bought one from the tradecraft stall at West Bridgford farmer's market when I was in Nottingham a few weeks ago. It's been great, really well made and all that but it's started to fall apart at the seams. I had two options, recycle the whole thing (it's made to be recycleable) OR patch it and carry on using this individual- albeit slightly tramp-like - shopping bag.
Enter last week's copy of the Recorder lol!!!



I went all around each sideseam and reinforced the bottom corners too. it's good for a few more trips now.

that's fab! I found instructions for folding bags origami style, but I really wrestled with newspaper; it just kept springing out of shape like a wayward puppy.

Well done though; you're looks great :)

Love what you've done, and you can keep updating the look too! I bought several little fair trade mini paper carrier bags last year, because I'm a sucker for little things And also because I wanted to make them myself!

That question is one of the reasons why I wouldn't bother with paperbags... Got so many cloth bags anyway, and piles of material (old jeans etc) that needs converting into bags... When I get round to it.

but I've always got a calico bag rolled up at the bottom of my handbag so it's ok.
