As such, when something contentious arises like the MMR jab, it is incredibly difficult to get a balanced view from the "powers that be", who will blindly support high tech medicine, to the exclusion of all others.

Increasing numbers of people are voting with their feet, and embracing the alternatives - they should be recognised, and they should have a voice in government. Over the years I've found many remedies outside the NHS, for myself, family, friends and animals - I know they work, and do so safely, without side effects, and usually they're much cheaper than drugs.

I don't dismiss surgery and drug therapy totally (if I'm in a car smash, I want a well-equipped A&E to patch me up!), but despair at the gross overuse of allopathic medicine, and the attempted smothering of all other therapies
(there are moves afoot to close the NHS homoeopathic hospitals, and to stop the sale of many herbal and nutritional remedies). It's about time all the disciplines sat down together, and looked at the possibility of using far more "alternatives" wherever possible - but all the time there is this blind insistence that "ours is the only way", we will not progress in therapy at all!

Despite being very "anti" allopathy, I still agonised as to the best course when the question of vaccinations arose with my daughter - we decided against, but would never suggest anyone follows suit - do your own research, accept nothing at face value, and then make your choice - what is right for YOU!
