I usually grab whatever disposable pen is nearby. Although all this writing about writing got me to thinking about my caligraphy sets. I have one with a nice ink cartridge fountain pen and a Japanese caligraphy set with a type of quill for kanji writing. I loved doing calligraphy but haven't done it for years. It's one of those tedious yet relaxing things I enjoy. It can be very artistic and elaborate or straight forward but either way I enjoy the process of siting down and writing beautiful letters.
I have got to pull those sets out and have them at hand for the winter--something to do on a quiet winter evening.
